Recipe: Mediterranean aromatic mixture
Spices and aromatic herbs mixtures
January 04, 2012
As mentioned several times, last summer I prepared two mixtures with different herbs, an Asian Aromatic Mixture and a Mediterranean one, similar to Italian seasoning.
Some fresh ingredients harvested last August: red chilies, thyme, pennyroyal, sage and chives.
I added also bay leaves, mint, marjoram, rosemary, calamint and oregano.
The Mediterranean Aromatic Mixture can be used with many dishes: it's perfect with meat and potatoes, and a pinch added to sauteed vegetables and savory pies will give a very special touch. My three year old son loves it added to omelettes.
