Recipe: Pasta with onion and cinnamon basil
Pasta with aromatic herbs
June 01, 2010
If I have to create pasta recipe, I know I always can count on the single cream, bacon and onion combo.
I also used some cinnamon basil: although it has a delicate flavor, it added much taste to this dish.
Pasta with onion and cinnamon basil
Ingredients
160g farfalle (butterflies-shaped) pasta
2 onions
150g bacon
200ml single cream
2 tablespoons chopped basil
1 tablespoon chopped cinnamon basil
1 tablespoon butter
1 pinch of chili powder
Directions
Fry the bacon with the butter, set aside and use the same butter to cook the minced onions for 15 minutes.
Add single cream, pepper and bacon kept aside. Cook 5 minutes.
Meanwhile cook pasta normally in boiling salted water until al dente. Drain well.
Remove the onion sauce from heat, add the minced basil and cinnamon basil.
Season the pasta with the onion sauce.
