January gardening tips: Sowing garlic

Winter tasks
January 08, 2010

I planned to sow garlic last November, but you know how it happens, two months just passed and I sowed it in January.
Some tips for growing garlic.

Sowing garlicChoose bigger cloves, and do not peel them.
Sow them 2-3 cm deep, 15-20 cm from each other.

Harvest in June or July.

Garlic can be sowed in a pot, it will not grow much but will give you fresh leaves to harvest during spring.

I am the biggest procrastinator ever so I understand that life often gets in the way of doing the things you know you SHOULD do. Looks like the garlic still came up delicious though! So cool that you have homegrown garlic.
