Recipe: Cucumber, herbs and poppy seed salad
Salads with aromatic herbs
August 29, 2009
I knew poppy seeds as a spice used on bread... but I didn't know that it can be used also on salads. Then I read Ganga's recipe, Cucumber, Herbs and Poppy Seed Salad and I really love the idea.
These are the herbs that I used (I don't have coriander in my garden now, but it should be included): mint, parsley, basil. The recipe also called for a mild chili and I used my all-time-favourite Shishito.
Cucumber, herbs and poppy seed salad
Ingredients
1 small or Lebanese cucumber
1 Shishito or other mild red chili
a small handful of herbs: coriander, parsley, basil, mint
1 tbsp. White vinegar
1 tbsp. Oil
1 tsp poppy seeds
salt, pepper
Directions
Slice the cucumber on an angle to get large slices. Mince the herbs and mix all of the ingredients.
