Recipe: Spiced apple sauce
Sauces, dressings and dips with spices
November 19, 2009
As I told you in a previous post, I'm trying some Thanksgiving recipes. I love many of the traditional ingredients: pumpkin, sweet potatoes... and apples.
I served this apple sauce with pork tenderloin, and it was delicious.
I will use the leftovers with some savory pancakes, I will let you know!
Spiced apple sauce
Ingredients
2 apples
1 tbsp sugar
1 star anise
1 small piece of cinnamon
black pepper
Directions
Peel, core and cut the apples into slices. Put them in a pot with half glass of water, star anise, cinnamon, sugar and ground black pepper.
Cook 25-30 minutes, then remove the whole spices.
You can use a blender to have a smoother sauce.
