Rhubarb, year two
Growing spices
May 02, 2011
The rhubarb from last year sowing finally emerged after winter dormancy, while I started thinking it was dead.
Rhubarb should be harvested from third year, but I wanted to try it anyway and last year I made a Rhubarb Crumble.
I can't find Rhubarb in Italy, and this picture was taken last week in Portobello Street, London: I realized that my rhubarb is still very small.
A clarification: rhubarb chards owes its name to the color of the stems, but it's not related to rhubarb, it tastes like chards and its leaves can be eaten too (and we are really enjoying them!).
