Saving Strawberry seeds

Saving seeds
April 08, 2008

Last month I bought some strawberries.

Strawberry seedsAs many of you will know, strawberry haven't seeds inside, but on the outside. I put some thin slices from the surface of the fruit on aluminium paper. After a few days, I took the seeds using tweezers and put them in a pot filled with wet soil, without burying the seeds.
I covered the pot with plastic wrap and kept it moist for a month. I was afraid it's all been wasted time.

Newborn Strawberry plantsThis afternoon after a glance at the pot I find out that the seeds are germinated.
