CitronellaMy mother visited my garden searching for fresh garlic for some recipes. She didn't find it and harvested a few leaves from similar plants. Then she asked me about the strange lemon garlic... I had to taste her salad to understand that she was talking about lemon grass.
Lemon grass leaves are a bit rough, but I enjoyed her tomato salad with lemon grass dressing.

NiraThe other garlic-like herb that she harvested was the weird garlic: it was chives garlic (nira), an aromatic herb similar to chives, but that can be harvested throughout the year.

She used nira and parsley in this peculiar recipe: a sandwich with two omelettes instead of bread slices.

Sandwich omelette with aromatic herbs

4 eggs
10 leaves of chives garlic
4 sprigs parsley
4 tbsp parmesan cheese, grated
50g fontina cheese, thinly sliced
100g ham

Beat two eggs with half parmesan and half chopped herbs, and fry in a pan with oil. Turn the omelette when golden brown.
Prepare another omelette with the remaining ingredients.
Stuff the omelettes with fontina and ham while they're still hot. Let the cheese melt and serve immediately.
