How many of you have store bought Taco Seasoning Mix at home? It's made of simple ingredients, and can be prepared at home very easily.
Homemade taco seasoning mix
Cut into thin slices:
1 white onion
2 clove garlic
2 red paprika
2 red chili peppers
If you don't have a food dehydrator, put them on a baking paper sheet and oven dry in preheated 50° C (122 F) oven one hour.
Mince coarsely and put them in a dark, not humid and ventilated place for 4-5 days, like you do for aromatic herbs.
Put them in a blender and add:
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp coriander seeds
1 tsp oregano
15g salt (2 tbsp)
Blend them until powdered, or leave some texture if you wish.
Store in a jar.
This herbs mixture can be used for many tex-mex recipes, sauces, grilled meat and oven-baked potatoes.
