Aromatic herbs and tomatoes harvests in 2013
Harvest and Store
December 31, 2013
Like every year, I created a collage picture of all 2013 herbs and vegetables harvests from my rooftop. Some pictures are missing, but however, the picture is representative of 2013.
From the top the winter harvests: alexanders and winter purslane, parsnips, beets, carrots and the gorgeous miniature cauliflowers. In spring the aromatic herbs were ready to be used fresh and to be stored. Then all the summer vegetables: tomatoes, cucumbers, chilies and sweet peppers. At the bottom the autumn harvests of colorful radishes and licorice.
2013 Harvests
Tomatoes: 4,2 Kg
Carrots, radishes and other root vegetables: 2,2 Kg
Bell-peppers: 1 Kg
Cucumbers: 1 Kg
Chilies: 700 g
Other vegetables: 450 g
I have not weighed herbs, to my regret because the harvest of basil and cinnamon basil was incredible.
The most productive plants of 2013
Among the herbs, basil and cinnamon basil, but also mint and lemon bergamot.
Yellow Pear tomato produced hundreds of small, yellow and pear-shaped fruits.
I also loved the Senshyu yellow Japanese onion, sweet and delicious.
Best wishes for a 2014 full of harvests and satisfaction to all of you!
